SCIBA Book Awards 2010

The Southern California Independent Booksellers Association announced nominees for their 2010 book awards, and in the non-fiction category, two of the three nominations were designed by Future Studio (Inventing L.A. and Secret Stairs). The winner will be announced at the always-festive Authors Feast in October. We've had several of our books nominated previously, and one won (Santa Monica Beach).

99¢ Only Stores Art Show

We did a piece for a series of installations at Ontario Airport. Our piece, Claw Crane of Art & Stuff, can be seen by ticketed passengers in terminal 4. It's a glass case full of stuffed toys we made from socks, potholders, underwear, beach balls, gloves, kitchen utensils, etc. all from 99¢ Only. 

Eleven other artists participated, and it is incredible how totally different (and totally great) each installation is. It's a very fun exhibit, just too bad you need to be traveling to see it.
