Congratulations to author Bill Esparza, photographer Staci Valentine, and publisher Prospect Park Books on winning the Gold Award in PubWest's Cookbook category. PubWest is an association of North American book publishers. Prospect Park Books is an Altadena-based publisher of local interest books, novels, and a growing catalog of cookbooks. In 2017, PPB won PubWest's Cookbook Gold for Little Flower Baking (authors Christine Moore & Cecilia Leung of Little Flower and Lincoln, and photographer Staci Valentine). So this could be considered a two-peat! Both books designed by Future Studio.
PS: Bill informs us that the omnipresent Mexican snack--Japanese Peanuts (cacahuates japonés)--was invented in Mexico in 1945 by a Japanese immigrant, Yoshigei Nakatani.
